What Is the Mentor-Protégé Program?
The Mentor-Protégé Program pairs established prime contractors with small businesses to strengthen the defense industrial base. Mentors share their expertise, processes, and insight, helping protégés build the capabilities needed to compete for and perform on defense programs.
DCMA plays a key role in the program, providing oversight and reviewing agreements to make sure they deliver real, measurable development for the protégé. For Port Electronics, that means a structured, accountable path to growth, with one of the industry’s most experienced organizations guiding the way.
Building on a Strong Partnership
This agreement builds on a relationship we are proud of. Earlier this year, Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) recognized Port Electronics as an RMS Elite Supplier for 2025, honoring our team’s operational performance and mission-critical contributions.
The Mentor-Protégé agreement takes that partnership a step further. Rather than simply supplying parts, we will be learning directly from Lockheed Martin’s best practices, sharpening our systems, strengthening our processes, and preparing Port Electronics to support even larger and more complex programs.
